Shotton Hall Theatre School

Coming Soon... Shotton Hall Theatre School launches it's first ever promotional film! Watch this space!

SHTS.jpgOur Theatre School is the only one of its kind in the region and we run 3 classes every Saturday morning during term timeThe classes are as follows:

Early Years  4 years - 7 years 9am - 10am
Main School 7 years - 16 years 10am - 1pm
Masterclass 16 years - 18 years          12.30pm - 1.30pm

In the main school, students work on techniques in the areas of dance, drama and music and have an hour on each with professional tutors for each discipline. Each term, students will work on a project that will be showcased at the end of the term. Recent projects have included “Heart of Ice” (December 2009), “Billy Youth Theare - Billy Elliot The Musical” (April 2010), “Don't Stop Believing” (February 2011) and, most recently "Seussical - The Musical" (July 2011).

Our early years class gives younger potential stars their chance to shine. They work on a smaller scale production but enjoy it no less than the main school's students.

Our Masterclass was only launched last year and it gives those who have flown the nest, a chance to continue doing what they love! Students had worked on a production of "Sweet Charity" and performed in the Theatre Royal Newcastle's Learning Space in July.

In addition to Theatre School productions, we also provide links with arts organisations from around the UK providing them with great opportunities to enter the Arts world. Recently, Theatre School student Connor Lawson auditioned and was selected to play the part of Michael in the West End show "Billy Elliot".

This term...
Shotton Hall Theatre School reconvenes on Saturday 7th January 2012. See you all bright and early!
